Boomplay To Celebrate African Music Excellence At The 65th Grammys With Free Subscription | General Entertainment

The global music industry is gearing up for one of the biggest nights of the year – the 65th Grammy Awards.

With African artists receiving landmark nominations in various categories this year, Africa’s largest music streaming and download platform, Boomplay, has announced a campaign to celebrate this achievement.

African music was represented when the Recording Academy released the list of nominees for the 65th Grammy Awards. Nigerian megastar Burna Boy and Beninese legend Angelique Kidjo were nominated in the Best Global Music Album category, while Ghana’s Rocky Dawuni, Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo, South Africa’s Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini and Nombeco Zikode and Burna Boy all for Best Global Performance.

Remarkably, outside of the Global Music category, Nigeria’s Tems were nominated in the Best Melodic Rap Performance and Best Rap Song categories for their collaboration with Drake and Future on the chart-topping song “Waiting For You”. Angelique Kidjo was also nominated in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category for Woman King’s song, “Keep Rising”.
