Black Starlets seek response in second friendly against Cote dâ??Ivoire

Ghana’s U17 side will face Cote d’Ivoire in a second friendly as preparations continue for the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Black Starlets are set to meet the Young Elephants again on April 30, 2026, following their 2-0 defeat in the first encounter at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpé.

The initial match provided valuable insight for head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical team, with the Ivorians capitalising on their chances to secure victory despite a competitive performance from Ghana.

The upcoming fixture offers an immediate opportunity for the Black Starlets to respond and fine-tune their approach ahead of the continental tournament.

These friendlies form a key part of Ghana’s build-up to the U17 AFCON, where they have been drawn in a challenging Group D alongside Senegal, Algeria and South Africa. The competition also serves as qualification for the FIFA U17 World Cup, increasing the stakes for all participating teams.

Ogum is expected to use the match to assess player combinations, sharpen tactical discipline and continue evaluating his squad ahead of final selection.
