Black Starlets begin training in Morocco ahead of U17 AFCON
Black Starlets have officially started preparations for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations with their first training session in Mohammedia following their arrival in Morocco earlier this week.
Ghana’s delegation arrived in Casablanca on Wednesday, May 6, before travelling to Mohammedia, where the team is currently camping ahead of the tournament.
The squad is expected to later move to Rabat, which will serve as their base during the competition.
After the long trip from Ghana, the players were given time to rest on Wednesday before returning to the pitch on Thursday for their first training session under head coach Prosper Nartey Ogum and his technical staff.
All players participated fully in the session with no injuries reported, providing a timely boost for the team as preparations intensify ahead of the tournament.
Speaking after training, Dr Ogum expressed satisfaction with the players’ attitude and performance during the session.
The coach also remained confident the team would be fully prepared for their opening Group D match against Algeria on May 14.
Black Starlets are hoping to make a strong impact at the tournament as Ghana targets another successful campaign at the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
