Black Satellites step up preparations with first training session in Yamoussoukro
The Black Satellites have completed their first training session in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, as they continue preparations for the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship, which gets underway on Sunday, July 26.
Head coach Maxwell Konadu supervised Saturday’s session as the squad sharpened its tactics and match readiness ahead of Monday’s Group B opener against regional rivals Nigeria.
Following the clash with Nigeria, Ghana will face Burkina Faso before concluding the group stage against Togo. The Black Satellites are targeting a place in the knockout stage as they seek to reclaim the WAFU B U-20 Championship title.
Although Ghana is already assured of a place at the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations as tournament hosts, the WAFU B U-20 Championship offers the Black Satellites a valuable platform to assess their progress, build team chemistry, and compete for regional honours.
