Raise your glass! Since Vanderpump Rules premiered on Bravo in 2013, viewers had front row seats to some of the biggest reality TV fights and feuds.
Christian Doute and Tom Sandoval’s turbulent relationship was a topic of discussion during the first two seasons. As the couple tries to resolve the issue, rumors of infidelity spread on both sides. At the end of season 2, Kristen admits that she cheated on Tom with her friends and co-workers Jax Taylor.
Not long after the breakup, Tom began dating his bar friend SUR Ariana Madix – which does not sit well with Christians. At the time, the T-shirt designer accused his ex of having an affair with Ariana before the breakup.
Tensions between Kristen and Ariana then reached a high point when the former SUR waitress invited a woman who claimed to have slept with Tom. Lisa Vanderpumpthe restaurant. Over the years, the duo eventually became friends while spending time in the same circle.
“I really love Ariana. I, really like him. It was confusing to me,” the Michigan native said Us Weekly in February 2018. “I think we’re having trouble now because we’re, like, tweeting each other. He’s unblocked me, that’s a step in the right direction. There’s the occasional group text and hanging out in group situations.
Kristen then joked that he “tried not to invest too much” energy in the friendship in the case of the Florida native changed his mind.
In June 2020, founder James Mae released his book, They Drive You Crazywhere he notes that he is no longer angry with Tom and Ariana about the past.
“I made the choice to let it all go, because I thought that whether the rumors of an illicit encounter or two behind my back were true or not, it didn’t matter anymore,” he wrote in the memoir. “A woman can’t steal someone else’s boyfriend. She made a free choice to leave me, and a free choice to be with her. I have to let her be happy. … She has to find her own way to forgive me.”
At the time, Kristen said she was frustrated Vanderpump Rules because it never showed how he got a better place with Ariana.
“He and I are really close now,” he said exclusively us in June 2020. “It’s been many years. and [not including our reconciliation] there is one thing that really frustrates us about Vanderpump Rules. … There was a temperature change like when he and I were no longer together, like salt to each other. And I thought this was an important transition that was never focused on. So I think it’s very important to include it.
Ariana, for her part, also confirmed her new friendship with Kristen when she posted an Instagram photo of them together in January 2020, writing, “We cute @kristendoute 🥰 what do you call a good cop/bad cop show? 😂.”
After a follower asked why she was hanging out with her ex-boyfriend, Ariana clapped back, “On this show? I’m cool with almost all my passwords [exes] and with Tom too and no one is ‘on this show.’ Who cares, we’re all going to die.”
Kristen once again showed her loyalty to Ariana in March 2023 when she broke up with Tom due to her relationship with her costar. Rachel Lewis.
“I miss Ariana. This is in real time. I love you so much,” Kristen told a friend in an Instagram video hours later us confirmed the shocking split. They both kissed and hugged. “I love you more than anything. You are my girl,” Kristen said to a tearful Ariana.
