Big Ed Brown Calls Liz Woods His “Ball and Chain” Because He Cannot Stop Being Gross

last month, 90 Day Engagement villain Big Ed Brown confirmed that he is back with Liz Woods in a nauseating post.

Fans were not surprised, and not only because the two have been filmed for the still-unannounced spinoff in the Florida Keys.

Unfortunately, it seems that no matter how Ed treats her, Liz keeps coming back.

And now, Ed publicly calls them “balls and chains.” Maybe he thought he was funny.

Big Ed Brown will, tragically, never change. We can only hope that Liz Woods will see it one day.

On Wednesday, Ed posted a photo to his Instagram Story.

In the picture, he and Liz are attending a National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) event. Ed smiled. Despite being in his presence, so was Liz.

“NWA ball and chain,” Ed captioned the photo.

For those who don’t know, “balls and chains” is a classic misogynistic reference to husbands.

From the 17th century to the mid-20th century, the British Empire used to chain heavy iron balls to the ankles of prisoners. These restrictions prevent movement.

In other words, a toxic man refers to his wife as someone who holds him back or prevents him from enjoying life. You know, as if they were prisoners in their consensual marriage.

Is Ed joking here? Of course it is. Is it a joke to make something disrespectful to Liz? Absolutely.

This would be a cringeworthy line even if Ed wasn’t a notorious misogynist, accused of mistreating women in multiple contexts. But from him, it would have been worse.

Remember, Ed’s bad behavior is not only for women who are unfortunate enough to find themselves in a relationship with a man.

A former co-worker accused Ed of engaging in indecent sexual acts, which he went public with after he gained viral fame.

And in the latest Tell All, Ed’s treatment of other women was so shocking that Jovi Dufren told him he owed it to Jenny Slatten. Joe is right.

During the same Tell All, when Liz confronts Ed about (repeatedly, on camera) lying to her and others, he demands that he return the ring.

Now, anyone can break up with anyone at any time for any reason. The relationship is consensual.

But when someone separates (or kicks their partner out of the home they share) in retaliation over and over again without getting rid of them, that’s not a breakup. It’s an emotional game.

Essentially, Big Ed is punishing Liz for standing up for herself. He humiliated her, hurt her feelings, etc. We all saw it happen on camera.

Unfortunately, he somehow managed to get back into her good graces. Viewers have seen more breakups than reconciliations, so it’s unclear how he managed to cheat on her. Preying on his insecurities is not possible at all.

Chances are Ed continues to convince Liz that he can change, or that he has changed. This man is 58 years old tomorrow. He had more than half a century to decide to be a good man. At this point, what is the possibility? Is it even possible? Liz had to ask herself.
