The big news in US politics today is that the aging Joe Biden is seeking a second term and the response to the WH2024 nomination bet is very clear – he is rated as 82% likely. For the race itself, he is traded as a 40% chance.
He is the oldest occupant of the White House and obviously his age raises questions about his ability to serve for four years.
This is now the National Review sums up the possibilities:
The lesson of the past few years is that Biden doesn’t have to be scintillating, impressive, or inspiring. Heck, they don’t even have to be popular. They just have to be there. To paraphrase Woody Allen, 90 percent of those who voted for Joe Biden just showed up
The big question is whether Harris will retain his position as VP on the Biden ticket.
