Former Aston Martin head of racing strategy Bernie Collins joins Sky Sports F1 team

Sky Sports F1 has announced that former Formula 1 chief strategy officer Bernie Collins will join the team this year.

Collins – whose expertise is in F1 engineering and strategy having previously worked as a performance engineer at McLaren and head of race strategy at Aston Martin – will take on the role both on and off screen, helping to explain and break down all of the team’s strategy and techniques. Sky Sports F1 viewers old and new.

He will make his first on-screen appearance alongside Martin Brundle, Nico Rosberg and Damon Hill at this weekend’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, ahead of a number of other races on the calendar, in addition to his role at Sky Studios.

“I am very excited to start this new chapter with the Sky Sports F1 team and would like to thank you for the opportunity,” said Collins.

“After many years on the pit wall, I am looking forward to accepting this new role in F1 from a spectator’s point of view and enhancing the racing experience.”
