French TV channel LCI aired a clip from an interview with Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on Sunday who said her government had not received a formal request for an agreement from Warsaw but added “if asked, we will not block it.”
The Ukrainian government insists that it needs advanced tanks to continue its defense against Russian invasion and war. Berlin has hesitated to enter into providing German-made Leopards, but agreed there to review its stock.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki criticized Germany’s reluctance, saying that if the country does not agree to transfer Leopard tanks to Ukraine, the country is ready to build a “small coalition” of countries that will send them anyway.
