For the most part, being married to one of the world’s most revered music icons might seem like a cool thing to do.
But there are also some disadvantages – like having to attend the Grammys at the age of 50 and paying attention all the time, as if this is not the first time you have heard about these performers.
This is the position Ben Affleck found himself in last month.
Affleck’s behavior at the Grammys made him an instant meme and sparked endless discussion, which was strange because Ben didn’t understand. exercise much of anything.

He sat next to his wife, Jennifer Lopez, with a blank expression on his face, as if he didn’t know he was on camera.
Some suggested that Ben was bored or uncomfortable with the show, while others jumped to more scandalous conclusions.
On Twitter and elsewhere, commentators casually suggested that Affleck was drunk.

In most cases, it’s okay to suggest that celebrities look a little tipsy at awards shows.
But Affleck has struggled with alcohol throughout his adulthood, and he has been very open about the difficulty of being sober and the impact that addiction has had on his career and family.
So recklessly accusing Ben of falling off the wagon after all the work he put in to get sober is certainly not cool.

In the new, wide variety of interviews with The Hollywood ReporterAffleck addresses allegations that he was drunk at the Grammys.
“Not. I had a great time at the Grammys. My husband left, and I thought, ‘Well, there’s going to be some good music. It might be fun,'” the Oscar winner recalled.
“In film award shows, speeches and, for example, sound mixing webinars. But I thought it would be fun. I looked [Grammy host Trevor Noah approach] and I was like, ‘Oh, my God,’” Affleck continued.

Affleck admitted that he didn’t know he and Lopez were live, but he said the rumors weren’t true.
“He was drafting us in this shot, but I don’t know if he was playing,” he said.
“I leaned into him and I was like, ‘As soon as they start rolling, I’m going to slide away from you and leave you sitting next to Trevor.’ He said, ‘You shouldn’t go,'” Ben continued.
“It’s about husbands and wives. I mean, some of it, I’m like, ‘Well, who’s doing this?’ Like, I don’t go on. My husband, obviously.”

Affleck explained that he has been on the show “and angry,” “bored” and “drunk,” but he added that those days are long gone, as he has been for years.
“I think that’s interesting,” Ben said of the accusation that he was drunk.
“This raises another question about whether it is wise to admit addiction because there is a lot of passion, but there is still a tremendous stigma, which often inhibits,” he said.

“I think it doesn’t bother people to make their lives better.”
Ben later added that he helps others with addiction because “I feel really good about it.”
He added that he sometimes advises them to keep fighting to avoid the situation they are in.

“Often what I would say to people, I would avoid [your addiction] come out if I were you. You don’t need to be anyone’s poster child,” he said.
“You don’t need to tell anyone. That’s why there are two words in the front of the book. They’re important, both of them: Alcoholics Anonymous. It’s always anonymous.”
We congratulate Ben on his sobriety and wish him continued recovery.
