Because Donald Trump Is Running For President, Voting On Where Each Candidate Stands On Maintaining  Democracy And Sustaining A Strong Economy For All Should Be More Important Than A Debate Performance.

Donald Trump, the performer, consumate con artist, and liar has convinced millions of Americans that it’s the performance, not the substance that should decide how people vote.  That’s “Reality TV 101 thinking” at play. Millions of people find his substance-lacking, incoherent, whining, sophomoric, and violent performances impressive is a frightening reality and a ridiculous challenge that faces President Biden.  Most Americans and people around the world find Trump as a performer to be cringe-worthy, desperately pandering, and humorless. HE HAS CONVINCED HIS SUPPORTERS THAT ALL HE HAS TO DO IS USE THE WORD BULLSHIT OR SON OF A BITCH DURING HIS SPEECH OR THREATEN VIOLENCE AND REVENGE AND HE SHOULD GET THEIR VOTE.

It’s sad that Trump supporters do not hold him to his promises or require he produce facts. He knows he can convince his base that everything he says is true, so there is no need for them to fact check or believe any opposition to his words. That is the type of powerful control over people that one leader in history used to kill six million Jews.

How well a candidate entertains an adoring crowd shouldn’t be as important as the quality of their character and the soundness of their policy ideas.  The contrast between where President Joe Biden and Donald Trump stand on important issues such as preserving democracy, fighting climate change, and building a strong economy should be understood and taken seriously by all Americans.

ON DEMOCRACY

DONALD TRUMP- ” I will be a dictator on day one.” He favors declaring America a Christian nation and taking away the constitutional rights of women, immigrants, and minorities. He agrees with the lifetime appointment of a president like dictators and autocrats Vladimir Putin. Kim Jong Un and Victor Orban.

CLIMATE CHANGE

PRESIDENT BIDEN-  “Climate change is literally an existential threat to our nation and to the world. As president,  my administration will announce executive actions we have developed to combat this emergency.  We need to act. The science is clear.”

DONALD TRUMP – “Trump suggests “the planet is going to start to unexpectedly cool”. He refers to climate change as  “mythical”, “nonexistent”, or “an expensive hoax, and an aim to control every aspect of our lives.” ” Science doesn’t even know”, he says.

THE ECONOMY

PRESIDENT BIDEN-  “I support economic platforms that include strategies to support the middle class, extend health care, raise taxes on the wealthy, and invest trillions of dollars in green energy infrastructure”. In addition, ” maintain positive relationships with allies and support legal immigration to maintain the billions of dollars immigrants add to the econonmy.”

DONALD TRUMP.   Will add high tariffs on foreign goods which consumers will pay for, give more tax cuts to the rich and corporations ( which ballooned the national debt during his term in office) and cut regulatory laws to make money for rich business owners at the expense of public health related to unregulated policies for climate control, food safety, and gun violence.
