Bawumia Refurbishes Two Health Facilities In North East Region | Health

After successfully funding the costly renovation of the Tamale Central Mosque, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has funded the improvement of two health facilities in the North East region.

Two of these facilities – Walewale Government Hospital and Wulugu Health Center – were given a major facelift to create an atmosphere conducive to healthcare delivery.

The Chief Executive of the West Mamprusi Municipal Assembly, Issahaku Aremeyaw Somo, told the Daily Graphic that the project was solely funded by Dr Bawumia with the aim of improving the quality of healthcare delivery in the area.

“The Vice President is very committed to improving health delivery in the region; that’s why he decided to do this kind of intervention,” he said.

“The facility has never witnessed a major facelift since its inception many years ago,” he said.

Prior to the renovation, both facilities were experiencing problems and were in poor condition.

Despite being the first government health facility in the North Eastern Region, Walewale District Hospital is in a state of shock. Parts of the building have dangerous cracks in the walls while the ceiling and zinc are in poor condition, causing leaks when it rains.

Meanwhile, the officials of the two facilities thanked Dr Bawumia for the gesture and promised to take care of the health center.

The Vice President has displayed a heartwarming dedication to helping the development of the least developed ports in the country, especially in the north.

Recently, Bawumia paid for the renovation of the Tamale Central Mosque and was hailed as an appreciation by the residents of the town after he officially handed over the completed project to his leader.
