Banks and the Fed have a problem — What about crypto?

In this week’s episode of Market Talks, Cointelegraph welcomes Dave Weisberger, CEO and co-founder of CoinRoutes. Weisberger has more than 35 years of experience in market structure, quantitative finance and trading automation. He began his career at Morgan Stanley where he built the first program and electronic trading system. Weisberger is a strong advocate of economic freedom and believes in digital assets.

We start with the main topic for today: the banks and the Federal Reserve of the United States and the problems they are facing. Crypto doesn’t seem to be affected by this at the moment, but is there a chance that the issue could translate into trouble for the crypto space?

For those of you still confused about what happened with Silvergate, Silicon Valley Bank and others, we asked Weisberger to break it all down for us and also explain why the Fed should step in. The Fed’s balance sheet and explain what it means and if the Fed reverses the progress of quantitative tightening.

With several major crypto-friendly banks being dismantled, where does that leave investors, developers and crypto-focused businesses? Are they potentially going to be left unbanked and out to sea?

Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) have been steadily moving up for several weeks now. Typically, black swan events, regulatory FUD and strong macro headwinds have a negative impact on Bitcoin prices, so it’s a surprise when Bitcoin picks up. We got Weisberger’s opinion on this and whether he thinks this upward price movement is sustainable.

We also discuss some of the positive things happening in the crypto space at the moment that can translate into a stronger, more reliable industry and, of course, money in the pockets of its owners.

We cover all of this and more, so watch until the end because Cointelegraph Markets & Research will also be answering your questions and comments throughout the show, so make sure you’re prepared.
