B.League: Dwight Ramos explodes for 26 points to carry Hokkaido

MANILA, Philippines – Dwight Ramos scored 26 points as Levanga Hokkaido defeated Gunma Crane Thunders, 96-82, in the 2022-23 B.League season on Wednesday at Hokkai Kita-Yale.

Ramos shot 4-of-8 from deep and tallied six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks as Hokkaido improved to 12-32.

Brock Motum was also instrumental with 17 points and nine rebounds. Shawn Long posted a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Tsukasa Nakano and Yuta Matsushita added 14 and 11, respectively.

Gunma dropped to 23-20 with Narito Namizato leading the way with 19 points and eight assists.

Carl Tamayo and the Ryukyu Golden Kings scored their fifth straight victory after defeating Matthew Wright and the Kyoto Hannaryz, 86-80, at the Kyoto City Gymnasium.

Tamayo started the second straight game, making the most of 10 minutes of playing time with seven points and three rebounds.

Jack Cooley paced the Golden Kings with 25 points and 14 rebounds to climb to a 34-9 record, improving their playoff bid.

Wright finished with 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists just for the Hannaryz to suffer their fourth straight loss, sliding to a 16-27 record.

WOOD, PINE TRIUMPH

Meanwhile, Kai Sotto and the Hiroshima Dragonflies suffered a tough 90-88 loss to the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, who missed Ray Parks Jr.

Sotto was limited to eight points, four rebounds, four assists, and four blocks as the Dragonflies’ three-game winning streak was ended by Coty Clarke’s game-winning jump shot at the buzzer.

Nagoya continued to play with eight men as Alan Williams led the way with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Clarke finished with 21 points to win his third straight with a 30-13 card.

Hiroshima dropped to 31-12.

Kiefer Ravena posted 18 points, six assists, and four rebounds as Shiga Lakes cruised to an 88-80 win over the Fighting Eagles Nagoya at the Nagoya Biwajima Sports Center.

Besides Ravena, Ivan Buva led the way with 30 points and 11 rebounds, while Kelvin Martin posted 17 points and 10 rebounds) as the Lakes improved to a 7-36 card.

Thirdy Ravena had 11 points on 3-of-13 shooting and tallied eight assists and three rebounds but San-En NeoPhoenix suffered its fourth straight loss at the hands of the Shinshu Brave Warriors, 79-68, at the White Ring.

Ravena and NeoPhoenix slide to cards 17-26.
