The AviationGhana Stakeholders Breakfast Meeting, organized by AviationGhana.Comis an annual event that brings together all key stakeholders in the aviation sector and policy makers to consider selected themes relevant to the dictates of the aviation operating environment.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Managing Editor/Partner of AviationGhana, Dominick Andoh, said: “We seek to help develop the aviation sector in particular and the travel industry by creating this platform. Many important decisions that benefited the traveling public were made in the previous three editions of this event.
“The first edition held in 2017 advocated the elimination of the 17.5 percent VAT on domestic airline tickets, the reduction of aviation fuel costs, and the elimination of import duties for aircraft parts imported by airlines. This yielded results when in 2017 the government abolished the 17.5 percent VAT on domestic air transport and further reduced the price of aviation fuel.
“Two more meetings were successfully held in 2018 and 2019, the results of which have shaped the direction of the country’s aviation policy and led to a collective will to expand the industry.
All the meetings are attended by the Minister of Aviation, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, senior managers of Civil Aviation Companies and Airports, and all country managers of airlines that are part of the Airline Representative Council, Ghana (BARGH).”
