Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Yussif has assured of the government’s commitment to ensure the late Ghanaian footballer gets a befitting burial.
“The government has taken all the expenses of the one-week celebration. The funeral will be a state funeral. The government will take the expenses also because of the late footballer’s contribution to Ghanaian football.”
“Besides, the manner and manner of our brother’s death is terrible and it is time for us all to come together to give him a proper burial.”
Also the former minister of trade and now presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen donated the amount to the family of the late Christian Atsu.
