Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam Member of Parliament and Ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has given 7 reasons why Ghana is in “economic chaos”

People,
I know some of you may still be wondering how we got into this economic mess!
Here are some reasons,
1. The NPP has the largest size of government in the history of Ghana! Find out how many ministers they have appointed since 2017. At one point, they had over 125 ministers!
2. This government has more than 1,000 presidential staff who are paid as article 71 officials in the Jubilee Building!
3. They have also been appointed as many special assistants to ministers with emoluments close to those of deputy ministers in various MDAs.
Also considered:
4. The number of spokesmen in various MDAs paid above the salary of the Directors!
5. Number of CEOs in various State Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and their salary packages! Many of these SOEs now have 3 or 4 deputy CEOs with fat service conditions!
6. Impact of Over 50 new agencies with zero output, for example. CODA, NADA, MBDA, free SHS secretariat, 1D1F secretariat, Oil Hub Development Authority, Care Ghana Secretariat etc.
7. The unconscionable decision to send over 100 Databank staff to the Ministry of Finance as special assistants and pay as customs commissioners in the GRA payroll!
