The five presidential candidates have accepted invitations to meet with stakeholders in the south-west region of Nigeria.
The parley was organized by the South West Development Stakeholders Forum (SWDSF).
The forum is made up of representatives of several Yoruba group organizations including farmers and marketers in the country and the diaspora.
The group’s spokesperson, Olalekan Ajia, in a statement on Saturday, said the presidential candidates would address stakeholders on their plans, especially for the region, if elected.
Mr. Ajia said the aspirants would meet the leaders of the group on a separate date at the Jogor Center in Ibadan.
The presidential candidates who have honored the group’s invitation are; Atiku Abubakar of PDP, Rabiu Kwankwaso of NNPP, Omoyele Sowore of AAC, Adewole Adebayo of SDP and Kola Abiola of PRP.
Mr. Ajia said the interaction would begin on January 17 with Mr. Sowore of the AAC.
Atiku of the PDP, Mr. Adebayo of the SDP and Mr. Abiola of the PRP will meet with the leaders of the group on Thursday, January 19.

He said Mr. Kwankwaso will have his turn on January 23.
“The candidate will solve the conglomeration of interests and associations of the Southwest between parties, religions and ethnicities, as well as Diaspora associations on how to support the region to carry out the existing blueprint for an integrated railway system, energy infrastructure, security and development. mineral resources for the realization maximize the potential of the region’s abundant human and natural resources as outlined in the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN).
DAWN is a non-partisan Commission jointly owned by all 6 Yoruba states for the integration, security and socio-economic development of the region.
The Chairman of the South West Development Stakeholders Forum, Alao Adedayo, also said efforts were on to get responses from Bola Tinubu of the APC and Peter Obi of the LP.

Mr. Adedayo said the South-west is the industrial hub of the country, so it “deserves to know from the candidates exactly how to integrate the zone in the agenda for a united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.”
