The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has been declared the winner of the Saturday, February 25 presidential election in Katsina State.
Atiku polled a total of 489, 045 votes, according to the results announced Monday evening by the gathering officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 34 Local Government Areas (LGA) in the country.
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Party (APC), Bola Tinubu, polled with a total of 482,283 votes.
On the other hand, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, got 69,386 votes, while the presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi, polled 6,376 votes in the state.
The total number of registered voters in the country is 3,516,719, while the accredited ones are 1,097,663.
The total number of valid votes was 1,058,673, the number of rejected votes was 32,514, and the total number of votes was 1,091,187.
