ATBU Bauchi promotes 26 academics to professors

The Board of Governors of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi State has confirmed the promotion of 26 academic staff to the ranks of professor and associate professor.

This was contained in a statement by the university’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Kabiru Aminu, in Bauchi on Friday.

According to him, the promotion letter signed by the Acting Registrar and Secretary to the University Council, Aisha Idris, had been sent to the affected staff on Wednesday.

He explained that the promotions were approved after receiving a ‘positive external assessment’ on each of the affected staff.

“Of the 26 promoted staff, 14 are Professors and 12 are Readers (Associate Professors).

“While congratulating the new staff, the Board and Management of the University hope to continue to contribute positively to the development of the University.

“He is also expected to continue to provide purposeful leadership to his junior colleagues,” a university spokesman said.
