They’re back, Wisconsin! Ashton Kutcher reprized his role as Michael Kelso in the That ’70s Show spinoff – but will he return for season 2?
“I don’t know. No one asked,” Kutcher, 44, said AND! News in an interview published on Friday, February 3. “I don’t know. I’m not in this one grass.
Kutcher originally starred in the FOX sitcom from 1998 to 2006 before heading to Point Place for a cameo in That ’90s Show besides real-life – and now on the screen – husband Mila Kunis, who also returns to her role as Jackie Burkhart. “It’s very cool,” said Butterfly Effect star said back to his old stomping grounds. “Kurtwood and Debra Jo were amazing. I did it The Ranch on Netflix and both come and on show. I love them. I love the whole cast of the show, everyone I’ve worked with. I grew up with that team. Being able to go back there and feel it again is super nostalgic and fun.
While Kelso and Jackie only made brief appearances in the show’s pilot, fans are still hoping — now that season 2 has officially been greenlit — to see the two of them again, especially since their son, Jay Kelso (Mace Coronel), is a regular series.
When asked how long he thinks of the next generation stick around, Kutcher revealed that he hopes they have an even longer run with the franchise than he did. “I hope those kids have 10 seasons of that show,” he said.
While plans for its sophomore season have not been revealed, season 1 of The 90’s Show Starring almost every original cast member from an ancestor, except Danny Mastersonwho is currently preparing for a second trial on sexual assault charges.
Last week, the Only Marriage star – who starred alongside Masterson, 46, in both ’70s and Netflix’s The Ranch – opened up about the New York native’s controversy for the first time.
“Finally, I can’t understand. I am not a judge. I am not a jury. I am not a DA. I am not a victim. And I am not the accused,” he said Esquire on January 31. “And, if that’s the case, I don’t have room to comment. I just don’t know.”
Kutcher added that he hoped Masterson would be “found not guilty of the charges against him, but”[s] for anyone who feels they have been violated in any way.
Kutcher, who became an advocate for abuse victims – cofounding Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children, which aims to defend children from online sexual abuse, in 2012 – noted that it was difficult for him to watch the legal battle.
