Almost two years ago, Ashley Martson and Jay Smith finalized their divorce. Finally!
The two of them before setting a 90 Day Engagement records for breakups and reconciliations. That is, before Big Ed and Liz.
Ashley has moved on with her life. He is an entrepreneur.
Unfortunately, robbers broke in and robbed the hair salon this week. Ashley posted a security video and asked the public for help.
On Wednesday, February 1, Ashley Martson took to Instagram to share a security video and ask for help.
“I’m asking for public assistance!” he began. “Anyone in the industrial road area, Do you recognize anyone in this video?”
Ashley wrote: “This morning my #MartsonHairCompany salon in East York, PA was broken into and robbed!”
“These guys took over 30K in products, supplies, clippers, dryers,” Ashley listed.
“And,” he informed her, “a safe containing a gun.” It was so scary!

On Thursday Morning, Ashley posted a longer post to reflect on this crisis – and also on some silver linings.
“Yesterday was a test for me. I created a salon from beauty school,” she began.
“We’re almost two years in now and with the help of my staff,” said Ashley, “we’re @martsonhaircompany so successful!”
“Something we use in the salon is @ethos_beauty education to perfect our craft,” Ashley wrote.
“Countless hours of work in the community,” he continued. “We have attended many hair events to not only educate but to talk with some of the best in the industry to make the salon successful.”
Ashley emphasized: “We deserve our success at the salon because of the hard work we do every day.”
“I’ve cut people’s hair while wiping away tears, I’ve made the world’s most beautiful bride on her big day,” Ashley listed. Sometimes, a haircut is more than just a haircut.
“I have done hair for the deceased so that people look good to say their last goodbyes to their loved ones and to the world,” she recalls. Again, that probably means a lot to your loved ones.
“I’ve done so much in the last two years,” Ashley wrote. “My salon, my staff and I did not deserve what happened yesterday!”
“Yes, I have insurance and everything will be replaced,” Ashley said. So many good things!
“What won’t change is the sentimental stuff,” he said. “Like the scissors that cut her first hair, the couple who died, things that are very important to my stylist, some other things and more!”
Ashley added: “On top of that, it caused serious ptsd in me because of the robbery, rape, and kidnapping I did when I was 19 just a few miles from my salon.”
Last year, we reported on how Ashley survived a terrifying ordeal when she was young.
“I will never be comfortable in my dream salon again!” she cried. “It won’t be my staff.”
Ashley added, “He stole a lot from us yesterday but not today!”
“Today I will be walking in the salon from 10-8 and working next to the amazing stylists @lady.j.hair and @love4hair13 and doing what we love,” Ashley vowed.
“The way all my staff ran into the salon when I told them what happened almost brought me to tears,” she said.
“It’s amazing and irreplaceable,” Ashley said. “You can’t stop us here @martsonhaircompany but it’s great!”
“Special thanks to @springettspd and the detectives for working the scene for hours yesterday so diligently and treating us so well!” Ashley said.
“Also, thank you so much for all the kind words and support from my community, our clients, and everyone who reaches out!” he finished.
We are saddened to hear this has happened to Ashley and her place of business.
