The Editor-in-Chief of Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt praised the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and his crew for arresting the perpetrators of the murder of Imoro Sherrif, a soldier.
A 22-year-old soldier was stabbed to death in Ashaiman and the attackers fled with an iPhone.
After the death of a young soldier, a group of soldiers, in what they called a sanction operation, raided the people of Ashaiman and whipped the people mercilessly.
Some residents were dragged out of their homes and beaten until they fainted by the soldiers, but the soldiers could not identify the culprits.
The police, in the investigation, have proceeded to arrest six suspects; Safianu Musah alias Dayorgu, Ibrahim Abdul Rakib, Samuel Tetteh alias Wiper, Abubakar Sadick alias Birdman, Yussif Mohammed and Abdul Gafaru Abdul Karim.
Two of the suspects were said to be directly involved in the killing of the soldier and four others were charged with dishonestlya
Kwesi Pratt applauded the IGP and the Police administration for using professional methods to handle the incident and the arrest of the suspect, unlike the soldiers who chose to terrorize residents in Ashaiman.
“We have good Police officers in Ghana who when equipped and motivated will do a good job. We will commend the IGP and the officers for doing a good job… they have shown that there is a professional way of doing things that brings results. We thank you very much,” said the Peace FM Morning show “Kokrokoo”.
