Asawase: NDC members call on national leaders to end brewing tensions

There appears to be bad blood between Asawase Member of Parliament, Muntaka Mubarak and the constituency chairman, Faisal Dauda.

The lawmaker allegedly noted that he would not cooperate with the constituency chairman over his claims of cynicism and disrespect.

This has led to a division between supporters and in turn affect the activities of the party to unite and galvanize for votes at the constituency level.

But some concerned NDC members in Asawase are not happy with what happened to the party.

They want the national executive to intervene.

“The bottom line is that the NDC is now divided and we cannot run away from it. It is important for the functional executive committee, the national executive committee and all party stakeholders to intervene now so that we can start the process of reconciliation and move forward together as a united force for victory in 2024,” said Umar Harris, the group’s spokesperson.

The group further assured the members of their resolve to intensify their campaign for the 2024 elections, but warned those who want to hijack the party for their personal agenda.

“Asawase is a safe place for NDC. It has nothing to do with who leads the party for the parliamentary slot. Whoever is elected in the primary as a parliamentary candidate has the support of all NDC voters in the constituency. So nobody thinks without him, there is no NDC in Asawase”

Well, the party’s plan is to resolve their differences, unite, and prepare for victory in 2024.

But this can be achieved with frontal unity.
