The Asamankese royal family has asked the general public to ignore the claim of Barima Pobi Asomanin as the rightful heir to the throne.

Pangran said, Nananom, Barima Pobi Asomanin, Head of Aworasa, has come, claiming to be the Head of Asamankese. This claim is completely false and we need to set the record straight.

Firstly, there is no clan or family called Royal Akua Korang Abrade Akwamu clan in Asamankese.
There is one substantive Asamankese Chief in the person of OSABARIMA ADU DARKO III
Second, Osabarima Adu Darko III has sworn allegiance to the Okyenhene, OSAGYEFO AMOATIA OFORI PANIN after his nomination, selection and election as Chief Asamankese.
Okyenhene graciously ensured that the name of Osabarima Adu Darko III was gazetted in the records of the House of Chiefs on December 18, 2018.

Thirdly, the claim that Osabarima Adu Darko’s news is fake should be treated with the contempt it deserves. Osabarima Adu Darko is really the only Chief of Asamankese.

The installation of Barima Pobi Asomanin which is considered illegal and invalid per the public notice from the office of the Okyenhene dated December 20, 2021 confirming that, there is a duly installed Chief of Asamankese namely OSABARIMA ADU DARKO III.

The alleged installation of Barima Pobi Asomanin led to the arrest of Barima Pobi Asomanin and 30 others (land guards) on December 20, 2021. They are currently being charged at the Koforidua B Circuit Court.

Fourth, Pobi Asomanin’s claim that there is no festival called OBOƆDWAN in Asamankese proves that he is not a true royal from the Asamankese bench as he claims.

Note that when Barima’s ancestor Pobi Asomanin came to Asamankese, he joined the Opanyin Kwame Apeatu Abrade clan. His deviant behavior such as not paying his family’s funeral fees and not attending funerals caused his family to be expelled from Opanyin.

It has become a habit of Barima Pobi Asomanin to make false claims in newspapers and social media. There is currently no dispute in court and this is a claim that can only be made on social media after being rejected by the courts and traditional authorities.

We confirm that Osabarima Adu Darko III feels the will of the Sub-commander and all the sons and daughters of Asamankese. There is total peace in Asamankese and Nananom will collaborate with state agencies to maintain law and order.

The grand participation of Asamankese sons and daughters during the final celebration of the Ɔboɔdwan festival proved that Osabarima Adu Darko III was loved by all. Nananom and the sons and daughters of Asamankese remained loyal to Chief Osabarima Adu Darko III.
