LAS VEGAS – Arkansas’ run in the NCAA Tournament ended in the Sweet 16 on Friday night against a hot UConn team 88-65 at T-Mobile Arena.
The Huskies used a 14-0 run midway through the first half and never looked back thanks to red-hot shooting from the field, including several 3-pointers. UConn shot 45% (31-of-54) from the field for the game, making 9-of-20 from behind the arc. The Huskies played to their strengths all night, grabbing 43 rebounds and scoring 42 points in the paint.
Anthony Black led the Razorbacks with 20 points and Ricky Council IV chipped in 17. Jordan Hawkins led all scorers with 24 points for UConn while big man Adama Sanogo scored 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting.
Arkansas finished the season 22-14 with its third straight trip to the Sweet 16.

Anthony Black scored Arkansas’ first five points, including a driving layup for a 3-point play for the team’s first points.
Jordan Walsh was the Hogs’ first man off the bench, replacing Devo Davis.
Arkansas trailed 15-12 at the first media timeout.
The Huskies used a 14-0 run midway through the first half to pull within three points to 34-17 before Makhi Mitchell’s layup ended the run with less than eight minutes left in the first half.
Arkansas closed out the first half by holding UConn to no field goals over the final 3:54.
The Hogs lost 46-29 in the first half.
Nick Smith Jr. led Arkansas with nine points in the first half on 3-of-5 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Neither team missed a free throw in the first half, Arkansas going a perfect 6-for-6 and UConn going 8-for-8.
Arkansas went on a 10-0 run in the second half but was shut out by three straight shots from the Huskies.
