Ariana Slams James for Being Rude

Vanderpump Rules Recap: James Wonders If He Proposes to Ally; Ariana Throws Scheana a Surprise Bridal Shower as Spiral Drinking James

Scheana’s the wedding is only six days away, and that makes for some drama in the group in this episode of Vanderpump Rules. James angry Rachel to have control over Scheana’s guest list, and Katie have drawn a line in the sand. Will it all be worth it in the end?

James requests a visit from his father, and they discuss sobriety and relationships. (Am I the only one who needs subtitles when his dad talks??) James’ dad admits that he never saw James marry Raquel. His father further stated that he sees a future with James and Allieswhich def planted a seed in James’ head.

It’s time for another tasting Schwartz and Sandy because she needs an “upscale menu” [in a strip mall]. The opening date seems closer than the end, but the to-do list continues to grow. Because they were at Scheana’s wedding, it was more pressure to get everything done quickly, and Sandoval even joke (I) that Scheana just had to move her wedding date to accommodate more people. Typical.

After Tom and Ariana‘s pool party, Schwartz believes he has made amends with Katie again. He invites Katie to taste as an olive branch, and they all swoon over corndogs and croquettes because they need the door to this restaurant open, like yesterday.

Ariana, Scheana, and Lala seem to like Ally, and so they plan on including her a little more often. They all gathered, and soon the conversation turned to Raquel. Ally just can’t get away from him!! Lala points out that Raquel is trying to “plan how the argument is going to go,” but Scheana continues to defend her. Lala is over Raquel’s antics and will only hang out with her in big group settings.

To change the subject, Ariana said about the upcoming “tea party”. LVPhis house. This “tea party” was actually Scheana’s surprise bridal shower, but they needed to get Scheana into the house without her finding out. Of course, Scheana cringes at the concept of a tea party considering the last time she participated in such an event, Brock ripped and so did Scheana. Here’s hoping Scheana actually shows up at the shower by herself!!

Lala meets Scheana and Brock to discuss the wedding, but really it’s a scene to show how far Lala and Brock have come. Brock lets Lala know that the baby’s mother has reached out to him, and he’s actually grateful for all of his words in the past because he pushed her to make amends. Lala gets emotional talking about past issues and admits she’s out of line to call people out on lack of parenting. Brock shows that he is a good guy, especially after the way Lala approached him. Look at it now – one big, happy “modern family”.

LVP’s house is decked out to the nines (as always), and the whole gang rolls into the tea party (full of pump-tinis). The surprise shower was a bit of a drag because there weren’t many people there, and we were greeted with the cringiest surprise in the world. When Scheana walked in, the group burst out in “Good as Gold,” and Scheana looked equal parts embarrassed and concerned by the spectacle that happened in front of her.

James uses this shower for multiple purposes: to get drunk and to keep asking why Ally wasn’t invited to Scheana’s party. James is convinced Ally wasn’t invited because Raquel put her foot down, and he half-jokes with Lala that he should ask Ally to marry him in Mexico as an FU for Scheana and Brock (like the engagement timeline).

LVP claims he should not participate in Scheana’s second wedding, considering his track record of attending successful weddings is quite slim (ie, Katie and Tom + Scheana’s first wedding – woof). When Scheana grabs LVP, Raquel plops down by Schwartz, and the “flirting”, according to James, continues.

Away from LVP’s castle, we find Katie gardening with Christina, discussing his soon-to-be-six-year anniversary with Schwartz. Katie chose not to attend Scheana’s shower because things are already tense with Scheana, plus she’s “unloading a lot of weird emotions” because her house is also up for sale this week. Fortunately, the sandwich shop is still in good spirits and they are hopeful that the future will be bright.

Back in the shower, Lala and LVP try to talk some sense into a drunk James, and Toms invites everyone back to Schwartz and Sandy’s after party (on the private tab, of course). James said what we all think: How many soft openings this restaurant has and how they are not open, open yet?!

While at the bar, James corners Scheana and Brock. He was sure Ally would be invited. Scheana is “envisionulizing” the seating chart to see if they can fit her, but Brock essentially overrides the princess and gives James the green light to bring Ally. The jury is out on whether Brock just said yes to shut James up…

Later, they all arrived in Mexico (minus LVP), and were ready to party! After discovering her room’s arrangement, Katie was furious to find out her room was nowhere near Lala’s. You can thank Scheana. Scheana has Katie move to a different tower and blocked from the list of preferred clubs. Scheana didn’t play.

In the lobby, James arrives drunk, and as everyone disperses, Ariana and Katie get a life-changing call from LVP: she’s now a business owner! That’s right – they got the place! There’s a little celebration with some tequila (watch out, Katie!), and Ariana and Katie are excited.

Later that night, Kristina walks into Scheana’s welcome dinner, uninvited. Scheana still harbors grudges from her first marriage because Kristina and Stassi pick every detail. He even called Scheana’s first wedding dress a “trashy quinceanera” outfit, and since Scheana is half Mexican, he was furious.

It’s not the only cooking drama at this dinner. At the airport, one of Brock’s drunken friends greeted James with an annoying drunken hug, and instead of brushing him off or ignoring him, James body-checked him. When James sits down for dinner, he leans over to Ally to shout this problem from before with Ariana, but Ariana does not like James’ voice.

Lala jumps in to let him know he needs to take a few hundred, but James disappears when Lala calls out to him to “push the guy” to the ground. When James is captured by Ariana and Lala, Ally sits mortified, the situation Raquel remembers (but not fondly).

James continued to push the issue until it caused Ariana to raise her voice against him. He tells James straight up that he’s had enough and that he’s done. And as it turns out, so is Ally. He walked away from the table, overwhelmed by everything unfolded. Bet she’s happy to be invited to this party now… to be continued…
