A new season of Vanderpump Rules kicked off this week, which means that for the next few months, we will be enjoying the sort of sleazy West Hollywood drama that only former SUR staff can deliver.
The season premiere certainly didn’t disappoint, with a high-profile farewell trio taking center stage:
Since the end of last season, Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney divorced; Lala Kent kicked Randall Emmett to the curb after finding out he cheated; and Raquel Leviss ended her engagement to James Kennedy.
(All three situations seem to involve infidelity, with Schwartz admitting to infidelity this week, and Kennedy admitting that he was hooked up with Lala early in his relationship with Raquel.)
Needless to say, that’s a lot to unpack.
But thankfully, not every couple in the Vander-verse is constantly cheating on each other.
No, there is one couple who have been faithful to each other over the years – but that does not mean that they are not subject to rumors and allegations of bed-hopping.
In fact, some fans are convinced that Tom and Ariana’s relationship is a sham, a smokescreen designed to hide the fact that they are both gay.
Why two progressive West Hollywood residents feel the need to find ways to hide their gayness in 2023 is anyone’s guess, but it’s best not to apply wild fan theories to logic or scrutiny.
Anyway, Ariana addressed the rumors last week Vanderpump Season 10 premiere.
“I think people see my relationship with Tom … as nontraditional in a lot of ways, and they think there should be more, you know? [Like] I’m in the closet or Tom is in the closet,” she told Page Six.
Ariana then explained that she and Tom were very “open” about their relationship on TV, so there were “no other layers” to reveal.
He added that the biggest challenge he and Tom will face in the upcoming season Vanderpump It involves not the type of life, but open a new restaurant Tom’s, Schwartz’s and Sandy’s.
“It’s hard for me that we’re both busy, but at the same time, I want the restaurant to be successful,” he said.
“It’s better now because I can just go to a restaurant and have a good time, and I’m very happy there.”
“We don’t have an open relationship,” Ariana tweeted after the topic came up recently Vanderpump trailers. “I’m really not cool. I thought it was obvious. #pumprules.”

Ariana identifies as bisexual, and it seems that some Vanderpump viewers are confused as to what it means.
In 2020, one fan asked Ariana if she was “not bi” because she was committed.
Madix replied, “bisexual ≠ polyamorous.”
It’s a little surprising that Ariana has to explain here in the ’20s, but at least she is nice!
