APC’s stalwart urges Atiku, Obi to withdraw litigation — Nigeria — The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News

Mr Mohammed Kailani, a stalwart of the All Peoples Congress (APC) has urged the opposition presidential candidate to cancel the litigations over the February 25 presidential election.

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the Labor Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi went to court to contest the victory of the APC candidate, Sen. Tinubu ball.

Kailani, the National Coordinator, Voter Education and Awareness of the APC told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna that the withdrawal of the litigation will pave the way for national unity and development.

He said the plaintiffs should put national interest over personal interest.

“If he really loves Nigeria, he should withdraw the case from the court.

“That effort will only be a futile effort and will not benefit us as a nation,” Kailani said.

He recalled that Tinubu, the president-elect had promised to open the government all-including such, aggrieved politicians should cancel that decision.

“Alhamdulillah, the elected president has promised to open a unified government; a government of national unity that will give everyone a sense of belonging,” Kailani emphasized.

He commended INEC for its strong efforts to ensure free elections.

Kailani said INEC has done better in Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections when compared to what it got in the February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections.

This, he emphasized, is seen as the Commission mitigates the challenges of distribution of electoral materials and ensures that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machinery works effectively.
