The campaign council of the All Progressives Congress (APC PCC) has applauded the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over the extension of the naira swap deadline.

Bayo Onanuga Director, Media and Publicity Council commended the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele for listening to the voices of well meaning Nigerians on the need to extend the deadline to replace the old N200, N500 and N1000 naira notes with the new ones. .

The council particularly welcomed the 10-day extension of the deadline and the additional seven days of grace.

“This window will allow Nigerians especially in the rural and remote areas to have more time to replace their old records and avoid the panic that will follow,” he said.

The council commended President Muhammadu Buhari for approving this extension and for his leadership and statesmanship as it commended the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his honesty in addressing the concerns of Nigerians at a campaign rally in Abeokuta last week.

He added: “Asiwaju Tinubu did not take the easy way out by avoiding what would cause serious disruption to the masses.

“Asiwaju showed leadership and compassion for the welfare of Nigerians, at the most opportune time.”
