APC PCC accuses PDP of plot to unleash fake news days to election

The APC presidential campaign council has accused the opposition PDP of plotting to release fake news to undermine the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the country counts down to the February 25 election.

Fake news and disinformation are the twin crimes that usually confront Nigerians during elections and elections.

Politicians like to spread fake news, especially through the agency of social media platforms, to discredit their opponents.

The campaign council in a statement on Sunday signed by its director of media and publicity, Bayo Onanuga, said the PDP has hired many social media actors to help carry out a calumny campaign against Mr. Tinubu and the APC by proxy.

The statement said that to carry out the evil plot, PDP has created many parody social media accounts such as ‘Vanguard Hausa’, ‘Dailyand Trust Hausa’ to spread fake news on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, What’spp and other digital platforms. .

APC PCC advised two newspapers – Daily Trust and Vanguard – to tell Facebook and Meta that they have been cloned by fake news traders, for political attacks, masterminded by PDP.

The statement urged Nigerians and especially those in Northern Nigeria not to be deceived, saying that the PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, know that they cannot win the coming elections.

“He also knows Nigerians will not vote for PDP to take over the leadership of Nigeria after inflicting 16 years of misery on Nigerians,” part of the statement said.

Unveil the PDP’s plan to release FAKE NEWS and DISINFORMATION DAILY for the Elections

We want to alert Nigerians to the evil movement and orchestrated plan of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party to unleash a wave of fake news, especially in the Hausa language to discredit, defame and delegitimize Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC before Nigerians.

This scurrilous campaign by the PDP has been perfected with a special team working day and night from the PDP national headquarters in Wadata House, Abuja.

The party has also recruited many social media actors to carry out defamation campaigns by proxy.

We discovered this evil plot aimed at deceiving Nigerians and especially Northerners to see Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in a bad light as the only way for the PDP and the failed presidential campaign to have a chance in the February 25 presidential election.

We consider it necessary at this juncture to advertise the minds of Nigerians to this evil plan that could lead to disharmony, ill health and needless crisis with security implications in the country.

The PDP and its hired social media influencers have started pushing malicious content by lying and using parody social media accounts of popular newspapers and blogs to spread fake news with the sole aim of deceiving gullible Nigerians.

Many parody social media accounts such as ‘Vanguard Hausa’, ‘DailyTrust Hausa’ have been created and are also being used to spread fake news on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp and other digital platforms.

On Facebook, we found that Daily Trust Hausa was first created as KRK Media on August 9, 2021. It changed its name to Daily Trust Media on December 7, 2022 and has a fake website address. every day.com.

The second Daily Trust Hausa Facebook account was created on August 13, 2022 as Facos News Hausa, with the aim of publishing posts on Musisi. It was renamed on December 29, 2022, just 22 days after the other clones.

Vanguard Hausa was created on December 21, 2021. The website failed to open

All these parody Facebook accounts are being used by the PDP to publish malicious fake news that a truck carrying old Naira notes, belonging to Tinubu was arrested in Lagos.

For clarification, Daily Trust publishes a Hausa newspaper called Aminiya, which is also on Facebook under the same name. We don’t know if Vanguard has a similar publication.

We are asking two newspapers, Daily Trust and Vanguard to inform Facebook and Meta that they have been cloned by fake news traders, for political attacks, masterminded by PDP.

Part of the evil machinations of the PDP will be to make false claims and accusations against President Muhammadu Buhari, Asiwaju Tinubu, his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima and National, Regional, Zonal and State APC leaders in manipulated videos, doctored voice overs, photoshopped images. and others are all in a bid to win the election by hook or crook.

PDP and its Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar knows that he cannot win the coming election. He also knows Nigerians will not vote PDP to take the leadership of Nigeria after inflicting 16 years of misery on Nigerians.

The legacy left behind by the party is insecurity, badly managed economy, looted treasury, damaged national infrastructure in roads, electricity, ports, rail, pipelines and so on. The Buhari administration is still struggling to undo the huge damage the party has done to our country.

As Atiku’s Presidential Campaign is headed for disaster, the PDP is vainly hoping not to lose the election by sponsoring a coordinated fake news attack on the APC, our presidential candidate and even on the government.

We use this medium to urge Nigerians and especially our compatriots in Northern Nigeria not to allow themselves to be deceived.

Atiku and the PDP have nothing good to offer Nigerians except their rabid ambition to enrich themselves, family members and cronies as revealed in an audio and video leak by Atiku’s former Media Aide, Mike Achimugu.

The APC administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is working hard to resolve many decades-old problems in Nigeria across sectors and only the other APC administrations of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima can continue, sustain and improve the trajectory of good governance. which started from 2015.
