The Ministry of Police has demanded the harshest punishment for the killers of the country’s policemen.
This happened after 49-year-old Warrant Officer Mavundla and his wife and children aged between 17 and 10 were attacked and shot while inside a vehicle.
The officer, his wife and two children suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene while a third child was treated at a local hospital.
Don’t shout
Police Minister General Bheki Cele and Saps management led by General Fannie Masemola will visit Port Edward in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday, following the killing of Mavundla and three family members, including her ten-year-old daughter.
Not enough anger to kill the police in the country, Talk to The WargaMinistry spokesperson Lirandzu Themba said when speaking to The Warga,.
“There is not enough anger from the entire public, the same public officers who are supposed to protect and serve. It is unacceptable that 22 policemen were killed in three months.

Work with the police
Themba called on communities across South Africa to work together with the police to stop the killing spree.
“The people who commit these crimes live in the community, they don’t live in the mountains anywhere. He lived among them, he knew who he was and in silence, he only considered what he was doing.
“The service as well as the management of Saps consider that any attack on the police service or members of the police service is a literal attack on the state,” Themba said.
The visit to Port Edward will see provincial Saps provide an overview of crime patterns in the police area and interventions to tackle violent and other contact crimes.
