According to pulse.ng, the convict defiled the pupils, aged between six and 11, between November 2018 and February 2019 at Balogun Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi area of the state.
The Lagos State Government charged him with eight counts of sexual assault following his arrest.
Justice Soladoye said the prosecution team had proven that Farouk was guilty of all eight charges related to sexual assault with penetration. He added that the consistency and demeanor of all the survivors in their testimony showed that the inmates had indeed blamed them.
“The defendant’s attitude was nothing to write home about; his stony face looked mischievous; he was very rude and unkind, shaking his pupils with his index finger.
“They are meant to teach students morals, discipline and values, but unfortunately, it is the opposite,” he said.
The minors identified the inmate as their teacher who pierced their genitals with his index finger. He sent his disciples back, after he defiled them.
Judge Soladoye who does not believe that none other than a Muslim teacher who takes care of minors can abuse them in such a heartless way, is called a person who is disrespectful and ashamed of his faith.
“Islamic teachers, who take undue advantage of poor students in Islam and destroy its purity and dignity.
“The dignity and safety of students must be respected. A teacher of Islam who is dirty of his kind should be locked up and made to pay for his dirty sexual acts,” said a disappointed judge as he handed Farouk a life sentence.
