Angela Oakley was called out by her neighbor Ashley Byrom for creating a “made-up narrative” on Real Housewives of Atlanta after “fish[ing] for information.” Angela then clapped back – but admitted she was “asking questions” and hired a “private investigator.”
On a recent episode, Angela claimed Ashley told her that castmate Shamea Morton had an affair with Ashley’s husband George Byrom (who owns a personal injury consulting firm). The star also insinuated that George’s donation to Shamea’s charity event was a sign of their affair. But Shamea later showed receipts refuting Angela’s claim, and several castmates agreed that Angela lied.
Amid the controversy, Angela’s neighbor Ashley spoke out on Instagram.
“Imagine calling me to fish for information about another woman, getting absolutely nothing but a neutral response… then turning around and making MY husband the centerpiece of a story you created in your own head,” wrote Ashley. “Let’s be serious. Out of everything in this world, why would I ever give someone permission to put my husband in the middle of an allegation like that? That doesn’t even make sense.”
“I’m just glad Shamea brought it to light before she had the chance to fully run with that made-up narrative,” she continued.
In another post, Ashley shared a photo of herself, George, and Angela’s husband Charles Oakley on the red carpet for an event sponsored by George’s business, Crash to Cash. “We’ve donated to charities all over Atlanta,” she wrote above the photo. “This wasn’t unique.”

Angela then clapped back in her own post.
“Nope. Y’all taught me a valuable lesson. We know clout chasers when we see them now,” wrote Angela on Instagram. “Won’t get me again. Truth doesn’t need my help. It’ll reveal itself soon enough. P.S. I saw this man yesterday… and he told me he loves all this.”
“Funny how me hiring a private investigator and asking questions somehow turned into a manufactured storyline for somebody chasing a moment,” she continued. “Y’all don’t have to like me, but one thing I’m not is a dayum fool. And by the way… if you don’t want your personal injury attorney all in the blogs, videos, and Instagram chasing clout… maybe choose @DELOSPR96 … I didn’t bring them into the conversation!!!”
