Andy Cohen is unleashing more thoughts on it Tom Sandovalcontroversial interview with Howie Mandel, calling it a “missed opportunity.” The host also suggested Tom was “no challenger”, and that neither he nor Howie were “doing themselves”.
Around the same time, Howie clapped back after Andy accused him of not doing his ‘job’, saying the “vitriol” of Vanderpump Rules fans, and announced that they are on social media “lock”.
On SiriusXM Andhika Radio show, shared by @bravosnarkside on Instagram, Andy addressed the controversial interview.
“With Howie Mandel everyone,” said the host, pointing out that “one would think” Sandoval was placed under an interview embargo until the reunion.
Andy claims he did a “great interview” with Tom for the reunion, and he’s “still hoping” for the audience to hear “[Tom’s] Perspective against Raquel and Ariana,” which is “interesting”.
Andy revealed that he learned about the interview last week, and that he was “upset … on Bravo’s behalf.” [and] on behalf of the audience.”
The exec said he was “surprised” Tom was interviewed by “people who are not familiar with the show or watch the show on any level.”
“[Howie was] like, ‘I don’t know why this is a big deal,'” said Andy, who suggested Tom wanted an interview where he was “unchallenged.”
“I mean, from the clips I’ve seen, Tom and Howie don’t like themselves,” Andy said, calling the interview a “missed opportunity.”
“The drummer’s wife Tom is a podcast producer, so that’s where it started,” he said.
Meanwhile, Howie himself was applauded after a Bravo fan accused him of defending Tom amid the cheating scandal.
“He hates me,” Howie said on Extra, in a clip shared by @bravobygays on Instagram. The comedian said he was “killing” himself for not doing his “homework.”
“I don’t need to do my homework,” he said. “I know who he is. I know what show they are. My question and angle is: why [do people] think this [affair] bulky? … I still don’t know what big international news is.
Howie admits that he doesn’t “condemn” Tom’s actions, but he wants to give Tom a platform to “spit out” his side, and he seems to “praise.[ed]” Tom for being “vulnerable” about his mental health and struggles.
In response to Andy’s “jackhole” diss, Howie called it an “honor”.
Since the backlash, Howie has been avoiding the phone. According to the host, his Twitter feed is “a mess,” and he said that he doesn’t want to “involve anyone in a war… This is the first time in two years that I haven’t posted on TikTok. I haven’t posted on Instagram. I haven’t tweeted yet. Well, I they’re locked in. I’ve never felt such vitriol.”
He claimed that he was stabbing “Bravo bear,” and that he was about to be attacked. Based on his interactions with the star, Howie believes Tom is a “sweet guy” who is going through a “tough time right now.”
Recently, Andy also addressed the rumors that Bravo will be produced The Real Housewives of New Orleans, Real Housewives of Las Vegasand The Real Housewives of Scottsdale.
“I mean, I think we’re good,” the host said Andy Cohen Live after being asked about the possibility of a new installment. “We’re not developing anything.”
He first “debunk[ed]” reports about Real Housewives of Las Vegaswhich began to surface as another rumor swirled: BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas.
“People are really excited about BravoCon in Vegas, they’re getting a lot of questions about it. And I just want to nip it in the bud now because there’s a rumor building online that I need to address so we can continue,” he said. “There’s a train of thought that, thinking we’re going to announce at BravoCon in Vegas, The Real Housewives of Las Vegas. And I’m here to tell you, we’re not, we’re not, we’re just not.
“There are no Housewives of Vegas. We don’t announce Housewives of Vegas. So just stop,” added Andy. “It didn’t happen.”
He explained that certain production companies would support him own casting for potential new shows.
“There was just a rumor about the Real Housewives of New Orleans and I know that there is a production company that we are working with, that is just putting the women in New Orleans to see if there is a show worth doing. New Orleans,” she said. “I think they sent it to Bravo. This is not what Bravo is looking for.
“A lot of times there will be, often people, people will start a DM with me, ‘I know you’re doing Scottsdale. I want to be in the casting, whatever,'” Andy continued. “Sometimes there are production companies that just fish, even if it’s not at the behest of Bravo, but just because they’re looking for women and they’ll bring them to Bravo and try to give Bravo ideas. So that’s the rumor I’m talking about today.”
