Andy Cohen and the team at Bravo developed a series based around a group of wives in Orange County, California, last year but ultimately decided to move forward with the picture.
During the “Ask Andy” segment in the November 2022 episode of Watch What Happens LiveAndy confirmed that three years after the launch of The Real Housewives of Orange Countywhich began airing in 2006, a series titled Real Housewives of Orange County made.
“We’re really thinking about doing a househusbands show,” Andy explained to fans, according to All About the Real Housewives.
“Initially, we created a show called Real Housewives of Orange County, and we cast a bunch of husbands, and the truth is, guys are kinda boring – no offense. So … we just, we were like, ‘You know what? We’re not doing this,'” he continued. “It’s been like three years [RHOC].”
While Andy does not seem interested in going back down the route of the show based around the wife, many commenters WWHLThat Instagram post is for the idea.
“A gay house wife show would be awesome! Start in NYC! I’m auditioning,” wrote one.
“Being GAY GUYS makes us more fun!!!” said another. “BEAUTIFUL [ANDY] NO ONE COULD TAKE IT BETTER!
“You need a show for gay husbands!!! That will be juciyyy!” agreed third.
Others felt that the current house wife would be more interesting, and one person said, “Andy has a suitable wife for the show.”
“Maybe some All-Star Husband or something [Real Housewives of New Jersey] a man,” suggested another.
Last month, during an interview with Yahoo! Financially, Andy explains what he’s made of Real Housewives franchise so successful.
“The secret sauce of ‘The Housewives’ is all in the casting,” she said. “I think I’ve done a lot of good work – finding the right woman and then figuring out how to keep the energy going and taking people out of the mix and putting people back in and putting new people in. There’s no science behind it. It’s, but [it’s] a process we all care deeply about.”
