Amber Rose and Julia Fox compare notes on one of the former!
During the latest episode of Gem Uncut star podcast Forbidden fruits, the two sat down for an honest conversation about their ex together Kanye West – and spilled some tea! For those who don’t remember, Amber was a 45-year-old rapper from 2008 to 2010 – an experience that catapulted her into the spotlight. When the 39-year-old model feels Kanye’s shadow following her more than a decade later, she’s not “ashamed, because it’s a big part of my story and how I became famous.” But in time? Amber explained that she was “surprised” by the media attention surrounding her at first and felt “thrown to the shark” by Ye:
“I think the funny thing is that I don’t have anybody that I can look at and say, ‘Okay, this happened to him, so it’s going to happen to me.’ Me first, I had a girlfriend, and then all of a sudden I’d be walking alone and the paparazzi would follow me, alone, and I’d say ‘I’m not famous, they’re not with me. Don’t follow me.'”
At that time Julia, who dated a record producer in early 2022 after separating from Kim Kardashian, enter the convo. She told Amber that she has a theory that Kanye has “always been the same, like,” and that he’s become “more extreme” in recent years:
“I think they just have really high dreams and always push the envelope as much as they can, push the boundaries – like if you tell the person no, they’ll find a way to get a yes.”

Amber agrees with the 33-year-old actress, calling out the controversial and problematic behavior of the end:
“I feel like I’ve been this guy, I can tell he’s pretty much the same when we’re together. The accumulation of years will make a bastard look crazy after a while because you’re tired. I certainly can’t make excuses for the things he says because I’m not agreed with him.

Looking back on their relationship, Amber revealed that the two started hanging out after receiving an invitation to appear in one of her music videos at the time. While it was not romantic between them at first, she said Kanye invited her to attend The Grammys as the date before shooting the video in Los Angeles. However, the television personality was only expecting one day and had no clothes for the event. That’s when a musician comes in and takes her shopping. Amber remembers having “crying in my eyes,” saying:
“I can’t believe it. I cried in the store. It just shocked me, because I’ve been poor all my life and have ‘Cinderella’ or ‘Pretty Woman’. [moment].”
