The ATP has decided not to take disciplinary action against Alexander Zverev following an investigation into allegations of abuse against the German.
Tennis’ governing body launched an investigation into allegations made by her ex-girlfriend Olga Sharypova in October 2021.
Sharypova claimed in a magazine interview that Zverev emotionally and physically abused her during their relationship.
Zverev has consistently denied all the allegations leveled against him.
The ATP said the investigation was focused on allegations of abuse at the Masters event in Shanghai in 2019, but the scope included allegations of wrongdoing in Monaco, New York and Geneva based on reports.
“A major independent investigation of Alexander Zverev has found insufficient evidence to substantiate published allegations of abuse. As a result, no disciplinary action will be taken by the ATP,” he said in a statement.
“This investigation was conducted by The Lake Forest Group (LFG), a third-party investigator. LFG conducted extensive interviews with Sharypova and Zverev, and 24 other individuals including family and friends, tennis players, and other parties involved with the ATP. Sleep .”
After a 15-month investigation, which involved material on Zverev’s electronic devices, the ATP said they were unable to substantiate the allegations of abuse or determine whether there was a violation of the player.
“This determination may be re-evaluated if new evidence comes to light, or if there are legal proceedings that violate ATP rules,” he added.
“Zverev has consistently denied all allegations and supports the ATP investigation.”
