President Akufo-Addo has been rescheduled to address Parliament on the state of the nation on March 8, 2023, instead of February 28 as previously announced.
Presenting a statement of House business for next week, the Chief Majority Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, said: “The message of the state will not come out as advertised before.”
He did not give a reason why the address was rescheduled to the disappointment of the Tongu Utara Member of Parliament,
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
According to him, the delivery of the state of the nation address is the most important constitutional task in the current legislative assembly meeting and should be prioritized.
For him, rescheduling without reason is unacceptable.
But Mr. Annoh-Dompreh did not agree, because the actions of the committee, in terms of scheduling dates, were in accordance with the provisions of the law, and there was nothing wrong.
