In the latest episode of the show ‘Real News’, hosted by Akrobeto, the TV star revealed that he also benefited from Christian Atsu’s kindness. Akrobeto said that the player once gave him a gift of 800 euros, although he had never met before.
Eulogizing Hatayspor players, Akrobeto said “I have seen Atsu on TV but never met him but he sent money through Kwaku Manu to give to me. He said he likes Real News because it is a source of entertainment for him when he is in Europee”.
“Kwaku Manu said I was his uncle and he asked me to give him money to show his appreciation for the work I did. Someone close to him also called to check if I had received the money. I thank him,” he said during the show.
According to Akrobeto, “I don’t know him but I was surprised because he showed love to me. Just recently he helped free some prisoners.
“We can all die at any moment, so work for your soul. It can’t be confirmed if he’s alive or dead, but imagine what he went through. It was very painful. Let’s all pray for him and stop unnecessary speculation,” he added.
Atsu, who plays for Turkish team Hatayspor, was reportedly trapped under the rubble after the February 6 earthquake that struck the south of the country and parts of Syria.
So far, the disaster has claimed more than 35,000 lives in both countries with the death toll continuing to rise. Thousands have also been injured as rescue efforts continue in earnest to find other survivors who may be trapped in the rubble.
Christian Atsu’s predicament has attracted a lot of interest in Ghana and around the world. During an interview with the BBC last week, the British wife called on the Turkish and British authorities to speed up the rescue of the former Chelsea player, Newcastle.
