As South Africa and the world mourn the death of award-winning rapper Kiernan Forbes, also known as AKA, CCTV footage has emerged of the star’s murder.

AKA and his friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane were shot dead after being punched while standing outside Wish Restaurant on Friday night.

CCTV footage has been widely shared showing the shooting on Florida Road that claimed the lives of AKA and Tibz.

The grainy footage shows AKA hugging and shaking hands with friends before glancing over his shoulder down the street.

AKA returned to the group before a man in a white sweater and hat sprinted up to them, firing a gun several times.

The footage also shows no robbery attempt and it seems the attackers only expressed their intention to kill AKA.

AKA fell to the ground as others ran away, while the shooter crossed the road and fled the scene on foot.

AKA and Tibs were pronounced dead at the scene after being shot.

“The latest footage showing the suspect shooting AKA and ‘Tibz’ at close range warrants the deployment of a team of experienced ballistics experts to ensure sufficient evidence is collected and an on-site investigation is carried out at the crime scene. IT experts should also be assigned to analyze the footage.

“We will all miss the sound and the sight, but not in our hearts when we listen to the music that inspires us,” the party said.
