It was a poignant moment when the body of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes popularly known as AKA was taken to his final resting place.
AKA was buried in a private burial ceremony at West Park Cemetry in Johannesburg on Friday.
While the funeral was not streamed or shared with the public, photos and videos were leaked online.

AKA Funerals
However, there are some visuals of the late rapper’s coffin leaving his Bryanston home in Johannesburg.
Those who attended the intimate ceremony included her parents, Lynn and Tony Forbes, brother Steffan Forbes, Nadia’s girlfriend Nadia, and her only child Kairo Forbes.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi committed the provincial government will honor the late musician by giving law enforcement, a grave in the Heroes Acre Cemetery and a flag draping from his coffin.
“We feel that people with AKA should receive some form of respect, and we want to make it clear that this is not a financial donation. We will drape a coffin and provide a grave at Heroes Acre Cemetery for burial. We will ensure that the burial is appropriate,” said Lesufi.

AKA memorial
Last week, the Forbes family said that DJ Znhle’s husband, Bongani Mohosana, popularly known by his musical name Morda, will not attend the funeral and memorial service.
“…Bongani Mohosana will be absent from the memorial service and funeral due to cultural protocol,” the statement read.
On Friday, many people wept uncontrollably after watching the late rapper’s memorial service held at the Sandton Convention Centre.
Forbes’ daughter, Kairo, also broke down in tears during tributes by pastor AKA, friends and colleagues as she sat with her mother, DJ Zinhle, in the packed hall.
AKA and Tibz murder
AKA was shot dead outside a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) last Friday.
The musician was pronounced dead at the scene and his close friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, died later, despite paramedics’ efforts to resuscitate him.
Tibz’s memorial service was held on Thursday at Sacred Heart College in Observatory, Johannesburg.
Tibz was also buried in a funeral on Saturday.
