Nigeria’s first lady, Aisha Buhari, has withdrawn her Instagram post from a statement issued by Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to reintroduce the old N200, N500 and N1,000 bank notes as legal tender.
Buhari deleted the fake post within an hour of sharing it through his verified Instagram handle, @aishambuhari, on Tuesday.
The post which appeared on Buhari’s Instagram timeline at about 10.39am on Tuesday was liked by 1,971 Instagram followers in 42 minutes.
But not long after Buhari shared his poorly written statement which he called fake on social media platforms.
The statement is characterized by punctuation and grammatical blunders as well as dangling phrases and incomplete sentences.
The CBN also declined to publish a statement signed by the bank’s Director of Corporate Communications, Osita Nwanisobi.

Buhari deleted his post shortly after the CBN denounced the document as fake.

But they have not apologized when they filed this report for sharing misleading information
In a false statement shared by Mrs Buhari, the CBN said it was aware of the “current and unpleasant situation in Nigeria” as a result of the naira redesign policy.
It was suggested that the bank decided to extend the validity of the old N200, N500 and N1000 notes after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.
The old notes, according to the discredited statement, will be distributed within 70 days until May 20.

The CBN must reject the same fake news in the bedlam of confusion and chaos resulting from the implementation of the controversial naira redesign policy.
Buhari’s eagerness to join the ranks of social media users who shared his claim could be an indication of his unequivocal opposition to the naira redesign policy that has caused pain in millions of Nigerians for weeks.

On February 1, the first lady shared a clip from an interview given to Channels Television by Governor Nasir El-Rufai in which she revealed the controversial policy to members of President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabal who are trying to defeat the decision. All Progressive Congress (APC) in the upcoming elections.
Mr. El-Rufai’s statement supports Buhari’s famous claim during his wife’s first term in office that members of the presidential cabal had hijacked the government.

The withdrawal of old notes caused a biting cash crunch has brought untold sorrow at Nigerians are scrambling for the limited supply of the new redesigned notes introduced late last year.
President Buhari in a broadcast last Thursday restored the validity of the N200 note but insisted that the N500 and N1000 notes have ceased to be valid.
Mr. Buhari’s order was in violation of a February 8 order of the Supreme Court which directed him to use all old records until when it will hold a hearing on the matter.
The case came before the court on Wednesday.
