Elon Musk is using his power to prevent these chatbots from dominating the artificial intelligence business.
Musk has reportedly sought artificial intelligence professionals in recent weeks to build a new research facility to develop an alternative to ChatGPT, a high-profile chatbot developed by startup OpenAI, according to Information and sources with direct knowledge of the concept.
According to the report, Musk has now focused on Igor Babuschkin, who recently left Alphabet’s DeepMind Artificial Intelligence unit.
The report comes after ChatGPT took the world by storm.
Musk founded OpenAI in 2015 with Sam Altman, president of startup accelerator Y Combinator, to oversee the development of artificial intelligence technology.

Elon Musk on ChatGPT: ‘Scary Good’
Musk, who later cut ties with OpenAI, commented on ChatGPT and described it as “scary.” Chatbots can, among other things, compose poetry, write cooking manuals, and even code on command.
ChatGPT amassed more than 100 million users less than two months after its debut. In addition, there are more than 13 million visitors per day, and the number is growing.
Chatbots are becoming one of the fastest growing consumer applications as a result. After stressing the dangers of AI, Musk seems eager to develop an AI that will take over ChatGPT.
Why Billionaires Criticize OpenAI
In recent months, the billionaire has continuously criticized OpenAI for adding filters that restrict ChatGPT from generating material that may offend users.
Elon Musk noted in 2022 that OpenAI’s work is an example of “training AI to wake up.” The note suggests that the alternative chatbot will have fewer restrictions on controversial issues than ChatGPT and Microsoft’s recently announced chatbot with similar functionality.

Tesla’s CEO recently referred to ChatGPT as more controversial than Che Guevara, the Argentine revolutionary, doctor, author, and Marxist guerrilla leader.
As it stands, conventional wisdom holds that ChatGPT is inherently prejudiced because it is “trained” on wake-up content.
Musk has been very critical of artificial intelligence. He strongly believes that any artificial intelligence should be taught to be politically and socially impartial.

Open-Source Nothing Else?
He also bluntly stated that OpenAI is growing into a “closed-source, profit-maximizing company effectively controlled by Microsoft.” He explained that he founded OpenAI as an open source non-profit organization.
It is strange that Elon Musk, one of the founders of OpenAI, is now strongly opposed to the company’s partnership with Microsoft.
Microsoft has signed a multimillion-dollar agreement with an AI company to use Azure-based cloud services and applications.
Despite these criticisms, Binance praised ChatGPT for its potential to be used in crypto adoption, expansion, education, and other areas, in a conversational and often entertaining way.

Not Yet Set In Stone
The AI market has grown rapidly in recent years and is expected to continue growing in the coming years. According to a report by MarketsandMarkets, the global AI market size was valued at $62.35 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach $309.98 billion by 2026.
Meanwhile, Babuschkin told The Information that Musk’s concept isn’t set in stone yet. The researchers went on to state that they have not yet committed to joining Musk’s fledgling lab.
