KOTA PASSI – Adrian Wong stood out among the young players after leading Team Greats to a 158-138 victory over Team Stalwarts on Saturday in the Rookie Sophomore Junior game at the PBA All-Star Weekend here.
People hit a number of three points from a special four-point line with a distance of 27 feet, especially during the fourth quarter that kept the Greats in front and finally the rules of the contest held before the fans in the City of Passi Arena.
The Magnolia winger scored 18 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter for the Greats. He also received P30,000 for his performance.
Javi Gomez de Liano of Terrafirma was the top scorer with 30 points, while newcomers Justine Arana of Converge and Ato Ular of Blackwater added 23.

Team Stalwarts, coached by Barangay Ginebra assistant Richard del Rosario, fought off Team Greats’ persistent efforts to make up for the double deficit.
Encho Serrano, Slam Dunk contest runner-up Tyrus Hill and Joshua Munzon made four-pointers and three-point dunks, but Caloy Garcia-mentored Greats had no answer for Wong and Stalwarts.
Serrano finished with a game-high 40 for the losing Stalwarts.
The game ended the official start of the weekend festivities in the city.
TNT’s Dave Marcelo takes the Obstacle Challenge while Magnolia’s Paul Lee rules the three-point shootout.
Converge’s David Murrell beat Hill to become the winner of the Dunk event.
