But is this taking it too far?
The Smarkets graph shows how the bets on the outcome of the next general election have moved and as can be seen there is a sharpish switch for the Labor majority.
This is almost entirely a reaction to the polls and also the three Labor seat elections we’ve had since the start of December.
The big thing in British politics in the last 4 months has been Sunak’s arrival as prime minister and the fact that he hasn’t seen a change in his party’s fortunes is cause for concern. There was no honeymoon period partly because of the confusing way in which the party changed its leadership.
I am less sure that Sunak will participate in the next election.
