BELGRADE, Serbia – At least eight people were killed and 10 wounded late Thursday in a drive-by shooting in a town near Belgrade, the second mass killing in Serbia in two days, state television reported.
The attackers used automatic weapons to shoot at random people near the town of Mladenovac, about 30 miles south of Belgrade, the capital, broadcaster RTS said on Friday. Police are looking for the 21-year-old suspect, who fled after the attack, the report said.
No other details were immediately available, and police have not released a statement.
The mass shooting came a day after a seventh-grader armed with a handgun and Molotov cocktails shot and killed eight children and a security guard at his school in Belgrade, sending the Serbian capital into mourning and shocking the entire country.
