“We have five cases admitted with suspected measles. The suspected measles have all the features that would be documented for a child or patient with measles,”
The statement contradicted the statement by the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu that no Measles-related deaths have been recorded.
“For the avoidance of doubt, there have been no deaths from the recent spike in Measles cases”
“No one has died since 2003 even though the country records cases every year” he added.
But the Head of Paediatrics and Child Health at the Tamale Teaching Hospital confirmed that a child had died from the disease.
