Heart of Lions handed their survival hopes a huge boost with a cruising victory over FC Samartex at the Kpando Stadium on Sunday.
A first-half mauling of the former champions was enough for the Kpando lads to stroll to a 3-0 win at home.
Captain Ebenezer Abban led by example by opening the scoring after 16 minutes before Seedorf Asante doubled the advantage moments later.
Ishmael Addo sealed victory just before half, and FC Samartex missed the opportunity of pulling one back after a second-half penalty miss.
The hosts wasted no time in establishing their intentions with an early dominance which almost resulted in a goal in the first five minutes.
Meanwhile, it did not take time for them to get the opener after Abban slotted home.
The home side continued to pile pressure for a second which came 20 minutes later through Asante, who finished off a brilliant move.
Just before the referee ended the first stanza, Addo sent the fans in Kpando in delirium with a powerful strike.
Hearts of Lions defended their lead and kept Samartex largely at bay in the second half.
