2023: Vote for leaders with capacity to address Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges – Agbaje | The Guardian Nigeria News

The former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Mr. Akeem Agbaje, has urged Nigerians to elect candidates with the capacity and ability to overcome the many challenges confronting the country to power.

Agbaje, who stated this in his New Year message issued in Ibadan on Friday, also canvassed for votes for the APC presidential candidate, Senator Bola Tinubu, who he described as ‘the right choice for Nigeria at this critical period.’

According to him, a vote for Tinubu is a vote for progress, development, economic emancipation and total turnaround for the country, because he is equipped with the intellectual sagacity to take Nigeria out of the jungle.

Agbaje, who is also the former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ibadan branch, said the socio-economic challenges the country is currently facing are enormous and require people who have what it takes to overcome them.

He enjoined Nigerians to use the power they have as voters to elect leaders who have passion for the growth and development of the country and are ready to serve with dedication and take the country to greater heights.

“There is no doubt that Nigeria is currently facing many socio-economic challenges that require people who have what it takes to be elected to power.

“As a people, what we need now is a leader who has passion for the growth and development of the country; a leader who is ready and prepared to serve conscientiously and take the country to greater heights, as exemplified by Tinubu.

“Therefore, I call on citizens to use their constitutional powers to put in place leaders who will change the fortunes of the country, rather than those who lack intellectuals to lead Nigeria out of the current situation,” he said.

Agbaje, also a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ibadan branch, congratulated Nigerians on their privilege to see the New Year, expressing confidence that 2023 will be a year of real change for the country.

He urged them not to lose hope in the country but have confidence that the ongoing electoral process will be successful and lead Nigeria to further democratic consolidation and will also be in a good socio-economic position.

“However, we must note that we as a people must elect credible leaders with political credentials and intellectual prowess so that we can all have the Nigeria of our dreams.

“However, I am happy that Nigeria is blessed with voters who are now politically sophisticated, more than ever before and who are not ready to be manipulated by noisy political traders.

“The voters know who and what they want and are ready to elect a leader who will serve their interests,” Agbaje said.
